POKUT HIGHLAND
The altitude of the plateau, located within the borders of Çamlıhemşin in Rize province, is 2000 meters. From the plateau, it is possible to see the peak of Kaçkar Mountains, Kemer Kaçkar, Altıparmak Mountains, Sal, Hazindağ, Amlakit and Kito plateaus, the Black Sea, and even the Russian mountains in very sunny weather. It is located close to the border of Kaçkar Mountains National Park. The plateau settlement is in the 3rd degree and its surroundings are in the 1st degree natural protected area and is under protection.

Pokut Plateau
There are around 60 quarries in the plateau. Many of them are ruined and some are unusable. It was not possible to reach the plateau by vehicle in 2002. The plateau was reached by mules and long walks with animals. Until 2010, it was not possible to talk by phone on the plateau. There are no electricity poles or street lamps in the plateau. It is possible to watch the Milky Way at night when the weather is clear. There is electricity and water infrastructure on the plateau, and vehicles do not pass through the plateau. Although not as much as before, animal husbandry is still practiced. It is possible to reach the plateau in June-July-August-September and October.
